Picking

Our crews will harvest close to 1 million pounds of Cherries each year. With 60-100 pickers we work about 20-25 days beginning at about 5am and working until noon or 1 pm. We pick into lugs as opposed to pails and provide you with harness’s to use.

Our Crews are organized into groups of 10-15 people with a Crew Boss in charge. The Crew boss will check in the fruit you pick and punch your card for you to record the lug. The crew boss is supported by Swampers whose job it is to bring you empty containers and carry away your full lugs after the Crew Boss has punched your card. Your job is picking and we do not want you to be delayed at all by having to leave your tree to find empty lugs or to carry full ones. At the end of the day you and the Crew Boss will go over your Picker card to ensure you have credit for all of your lugs and you will receive a copy while the Crew boss takes a copy for payroll.

You are paid by the lug for each one you pick. A final paycheck will be written the last day of picking. We are committed to having your paycheck to you within hours of you finishing picking for the season.
